FRIENDS OF CLAINES CHuRCH

Nick moves on!

Saturday 6th July saw wonderful weather for a sad but also joyous day for Claines and Nick Kaleniuk and his family!

Parishioners gathered at Claines School playing field for a picnic and presentation to say a huge thanks to Nick for his four years service to Claines since his arrival on 5th June 2009 as a newly ordained Deacon. Nick was then ordained Priest in 2010 and now moves on to a parish of his own at St James Church, Wollaston, Stourbridge. He will be licensed there on September 3rd.

Nick, his wife Alex and children Nicholas and Elizabeth, were presented with gifts from the parish, including a water colour of Claines Church, a pair of Stoles, a family day out and a picture celebrating the leadership Nick has shown for the Youth at Claines.

Churchwarden Phil Kear gave a moving tribute to Nick who has won a special place in the hearts of Claines people. Nick responded, celebrating his time at Claines and the special place his four years here will play in his life and that of his family.

We wish Nick and his family years of happiness and service and send them  on with our love and prayers.

So what did you learn at Claines Nick? Isn’t that the Church with a pub in the churchyard?
